以 HBO 犯罪剧集《火线重案组》（The Wire）为人所知的男星麦可肯尼斯威廉斯（Michael Kenneth Williams）终年 54 岁。
根据《People》报导指出，麦可肯尼斯威廉斯于美国时间周一下午两点，被发现在布鲁克林的公寓中死亡。警方表示，当时是麦可肯尼斯威廉斯的外甥在起居室发现他已过世。
麦可肯尼斯威廉斯的代表方在令人遗憾的消息传出后，发表声明表示，” 非常悲痛地宣布艾美奖提名演员麦可肯尼斯威廉斯去世，其家人在为这逝去感到悲痛之时，希望能保有隐私。”
而在死因尚未公开前，根据《New York Post》的报导指出，麦可肯尼斯威廉斯的公寓中有吸毒用品。一位执法部门的人员则透露，他的死亡疑似是因为吸毒过量，警方认为他可能吸食了含有吩坦尼的海洛因。
不少演艺界好友在得知消息后，纷纷为这位五度获得艾美奖提名的男星哀悼，包括曾在《火线重案组》共演的温德尔皮尔斯（Wendell Pierce）和小伊塞亚维特洛克（Isiah Whitlock Jr.），以及曾合作过的乔尔麦克哈尔（Joel McHale）、艾伦芭金（Ellen Barkin）等人。
